Our Story

Double Oaks Estate cellar door, family vineyard in Lancefield, Victorian truffle farm, truffle hunt, outdoor lunches, Macedon

At Double Oaks Estate, family and hospitality come first.

We’re not just growers, we’re proud hosts, here to welcome you in, share what we make, and make sure you leave with a good story (and hopefully a few new favourites to enjoy at home).

The Chehab family has run Double Oaks since 2016, restoring the vineyard, building the truffle farm from the ground up, and opening the cellar door so locals and visitors could share in everything we do.

This place is about genuine connection, whether you’re tasting Pinot Noir in the afternoon sun, watching the kids chase each other around the garden, or joining a winter truffle hunt. Every bottle and every truffle reflects a hands-on approach and the belief that food, wine, and conversation are best when shared.

Open Saturday and Sunday, 12–5pm for tastings, lunch, and a laid-back regional experience.

The Vineyard

The vineyard at Double Oaks was first planted in 1980 and sits on a patchwork of soils, with each block offering something different to the vines. We grow Pinot Noir, Chardonnay,  Cabernet Sauvignon and Grüner Veltliner with each vintage shaped by the unique character of its site.

For some wines, like Shiraz and Riesling, we work with regional growers who share our values and approach. Everything is made in small batches, by hand, and with a focus on flavour, balance, and enjoyment at the table.

The Truffle Farm

Five acres of French oak trees make up our truffière, established with years of preparation; we raised the soil pH, improved the land, and carefully planted each tree to encourage Perigord black truffles.

Every winter, the hunt begins with our trained truffle dogs. Truffles are found, dug by hand, cleaned, and graded on-site. Availability is always limited and driven by the season, making each harvest unique.

We offer fresh truffles and a small range of truffle products direct from the farm. Visitors can also join a guided truffle hunt during winter to see how it’s done and share in the excitement.
